NHS treatment
Some teens can be eligible for orthodontic treatment on the NHS if their teeth are bad enough such as severe crowding, buried and impacted teeth, or severely protruding teeth. The NHS regulations only allow treatment for dental health needs, not simply for cosmetic reasons.
The Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN) is used by the NHS to determine if a case is severe enough for funding. A long wait on an NHS waiting list for assessment can often still turn out to be too mild for NHS funding and end up seeking our help with Beam Essentials Private treatments.
