What if we told you that the team of orthodontic specialists here at Beam Orthodontics could straighten your teeth without anyone knowing you’re having treatment? Would it sound too good to be true?
Well, at Beam Orthodontics, we don’t like to boast, but we are pretty good at our jobs, and it helps to be able to work with some of the latest developments in orthodontic technology – like Invisalign.
Invisalign uses virtually invisible, clear, plastic aligners to move your teeth into position and no-one will be able to tell you’re wearing them.
What is Invisalign?
Invisalign has revolutionised the orthodontic industry and the type of treatment we are able to provide to our patients. Whether you are a teenager or an adult, Invisalign can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing you’re wearing an appliance.
Instead of using braces, Invisalign uses virtually invisible aligners. These look like thin sports mouthguards and are custom-made for your teeth from clear, medical grade plastic. You simply fit them over your upper and lower teeth and wear each set of aligners for two weeks. After the two-week period, you switch them for the next set of aligners in the series. These are moulded slightly differently to help guide your teeth into a straighter position.
|Name of treatment||Price||Monthly repayments|
|Invisalign||from £3,000||£25 over 3 years|
|Lingual Braces||from £1,600||£40 over 1 year|

How does Invisalign work?
The Invisalign treatment process starts with our team taking 3D impressions of your teeth, using a state-of-the-art iTero intra-oral scanner. These impressions are immediately visible on the scanner’s screen so you can see what your teeth look like before treatment begins. Your custom-made aligners are made using these impressions, to ensure a comfortable fit.
The iTero intra-oral scanner is the very best impression-taking technology of its kind in the industry. That’s why we’ve invested in it. The scanner’s small wand-like device ensures no discomfort for you while we are taking impressions of your teeth, and gives us the most accurate record of your teeth and jaws.
From the data it gives us, we can assess the current position of your teeth, plan their movement, manufacture appliances which will custom-fit your teeth, and track your treatment progress. All the while, you can see what we’re looking at on the scanner’s screen.
The key to successful Invisalign treatment isn’t this state-of-the art technology; rather it is the know-how of a specialist orthodontist who has a full understanding of how to move teeth. This is what sets us apart at Beam Orthodontics.
Our orthodontists are specially trained in the use of Invisalign and we participate in ongoing professional development to ensure we get the very best from this treatment method for our patients. This means our knowledge of how Invisalign works, and how we can get the best results, is significantly more comprehensive than that of general dentists offering Invisalign, who typically only have one day of training with Invisalign before offering the aligners to their patients.
There are four different types of Invisalign available and at Beam Orthodontics we can recommend the best type for you:
Invisalign Full – this is the Full Invisalign treatment ideal for major orthodontic cases. Treatment times take between 15 and 24 months.
Invisalign Teen – this is the Invisalign version just for teens which takes into account a teenage patient’s growing molars.
Invisalign Lite – this version corrects cases affecting the front six teeth and achieves results in as little as six months.
Invisalign i7 – this is another of Invisalign’s fast treatment options to correct issues affecting the front six teeth. Results can be achieved in as little as three months.
Invisalign Teen aligners have been designed with teenagers in mind. The great benefit of Invisalign Teen aligners is that they provide an aesthetic, more flexible way to give teenagers the confidence of a great smile.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign Teen aligners are comfortable, removable and nearly invisible, which means teenagers can carry on enjoying life without the restrictions, irritation and self-consciousness associated with metal brackets and wires.
Because Invisalign aligners are removable, teenagers can continue brushing and flossing normally – and this can lead to better overall dental health in the future. Each aligner also comes with a small, inconspicuous Blue Dot Indicator, which helps patients know if they are ready for their next set of aligners and shows parents that the braces are being worn as directed.
There are so many benefits to Invisalign, not least their invisibility:
Our crystal-clear, customised aligners from Invisalign are ideal for patients in Dundee, Broughty Ferry, Perth, Arbroath, St Andrews, Forfar, Montrose, Kirriemuir - in fact the whole of Tayside, Angus and North Fife who would like to straighten their teeth without anyone knowing.
