We’re delighted to announce the launch of a new Oral Surgery service at Beam Orthodontics, led by experienced Consultant Oral Surgeon Tristan Bradshaw. Whether you’ve been referred by your dentist or are seeking treatment directly, you can now access specialist oral surgery in the same modern, welcoming environment you already know and trust.
To help you understand what this means for you, we’ve put together answers to the questions we expect you’ll have.
What is changing at Beam Orthodontics Dundee?
We’re expanding our range of services to include specialist oral surgery, delivered by Consultant Oral Surgeon Tristan Bradshaw. Previously, patients needing this kind of treatment would often have to be referred elsewhere. Now, specialist oral surgery and orthodontics work together under one roof, meaning more of your care can happen in one place, with one team coordinating your journey.
Who is Tristan Bradshaw?
Tristan Bradshaw is an experienced Consultant Oral Surgeon joining the Beam Orthodontics team to lead this new service. He brings specialist expertise in surgical procedures that go beyond routine dental care, ensuring patients receive expert treatment without having to search for a separate provider.
What treatments does the new Oral Surgery service cover?
The service includes:
Wisdom tooth removal, for teeth that are impacted, causing pain, or need to be extracted for other clinical reasons.
Complex tooth extractions, for cases that require a level of surgical skill beyond a standard extraction.
Surgical exposure of impacted teeth, often carried out to support orthodontic treatment when a tooth hasn’t erupted properly.
Retained root removal, addressing root fragments left behind after a previous extraction.
Assessments and second opinions, for patients who want expert input on a diagnosis or proposed treatment before deciding how to proceed.
Do I need to be referred by my dentist to use this service?
No. While we do welcome referrals from dentists, you don’t need one to access our oral surgery service. You can get in touch directly to arrange an assessment.
Why does it help to have oral surgery and orthodontics in the same place?
When specialist oral surgery and orthodontics work together, your care is easier to coordinate. For example, if surgical exposure of an impacted tooth is needed as part of an orthodontic treatment plan, the two teams can work closely together, so your journey is joined up rather than split across different providers. It also means clearer communication between clinicians and, ultimately, a smoother experience for you.
What can I expect from the treatment journey?
You can expect the same standard of care that Beam Orthodontics patients already know: a modern, welcoming environment, clear communication at every stage, and a team focused on making your treatment as straightforward as possible, from your initial assessment through to your recovery.
How do I book an appointment or find out more?
Whether you have a specific concern, such as an impacted wisdom tooth, or would simply like a second opinion, get in touch with Beam Orthodontics Dundee to arrange a consultation with Tristan Bradshaw. Our team will be happy to talk you through the next steps.
