Ruaridh Mckelvey
Principal Specialist Orthodontist
Rhu is the founder and co-owner of Beam. He is a 'Diamond Apex' level Invisalign® provider – putting him in the top 1% of Invisalign® providers worldwide.
Rhu has been a Specialist in Orthodontics since 2002 working in several hospitals and practices prior to opening Beam in 2007. Since then Beam has treated over 10,000 kids and adults, correcting smiles for people from all over Scotland.
Rhu and his wife Jane graduated in dentistry at Glasgow in 1995. He passed his Fellowship in Dental Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons in 1998 and then spent three years in specialist orthodontic training in Bristol and Exeter. He completed the orthodontic exam (M.Orth) at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2002. Rhu has been based in Dundee since 2005 where he launched Beam Orthodontics with his wife Jane in 2007.
Since opening Beam, the practice has won multiple awards and grown into the biggest orthodontic provider in Tayside. Rhu has been an active member of local and national dental bodies and continually works closely with the local dentists who refer in patients needing specialist orthodontic work.
Rhu is a member of the British Orthodontics Society, the American Orthodontic Society, the World Orthodontic Society, British Dental Association and The Invisible Orthodontist group. This keeps Rhu up to date with the latest innovations and techniques from the world's leading Orthodontists.
Rhu and Jane live in rural Angus where Jane operates her interior design business (Author Interiors) from home amongst their free-range kids and animals.

Roxana Lutic
Specialist Orthodontist
Roxana graduated in dentistry in 2013 in Bucharest. She went on to work as a paediatric dentist while pursuing her specialty training in Orthodontics and Dento-Facial Orthopaedics.
During her residency, Roxana assisted in training dental students while also performing clinical research, the results of which she presented at international orthodontic congresses.
She graduated as an Orthodontic Specialist in 2015 and has since gained professional experience in a specialist orthodontic practice in Bucharest before moving to Scotland in 2017 to work as a Specialist Orthodontist in an Elgin-based clinic. Roxana has since treated a large and varied number of orthodontic patients and gained the certification of Orthodontic therapist trainer in May 2019.
Roxana is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, the European Orthodontic Society, and the European Aligner Society.

Neil McDougall
Dentist with Special Interest in Orthodontics
Neil is a highly experienced dental practitioner who has worked in specialist orthodontic practice since 2005. He joined Beam in 2019 having already treated in excess of 3000 orthodontic patients. Neil has supplemented his orthodontic experience by completing a Masters degree at the University of Glasgow, allowing him to be officially recognised as a dentist with enhanced skills in orthodontics. He passed with distinction and also won the GSK award for student with best project presentation.
Neil is committed to continually updating his skills and knowledge in orthodontics and is a member of the British Orthodontic Society, the European Orthodontic Society, and the European Aligner Society. He gained the diploma, Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, in 2017.
Neil graduated in dentistry from Dundee University in 1993. He completed his vocational training in the North East of England and subsequently worked in several general dental practices across that region. Neil’s passion for orthodontics and professional development led him to divide his time between working in general dentistry and orthodontic practice. Since 2010, he has devoted all his clinical time to providing orthodontic care, working in specialist orthodontic practices in Sunderland and York prior to returning to Dundee.
